Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3


Mercedes-Benz presents the new SLS AMG GT3 at the New York Auto Show 2010. This competition model is notable for its dramatic design and motorsports pure technology, and is developed to meet the specifications of the FIA GT3.

Mercedes-AMG presents a variant GT3, a racing version of the gullwing model stands out for its innovative design and technology. It is a vehicle of sports competition for customers competing in the sprints and long distance races, and that also are reaching a growing worldwide popularity.

The new SLS AMG GT3 is a continuation of AMG emphatic commitment to motor sports. This new version is developed and produced by AMG in close cooperation with HWA AG, which is responsible for the DTM racing team on behalf of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport. The HWA is one of the most successful in international motorsport, as a witness of nine championship driver in the DTM and ITC as well as two championship titles in the FIA GT Championship.

The purist design and contours of this stunning gullwing model are effectively emphasized by specific modifications to the bodywork. The new components made mainly from carbon fiber are a clear testimony to the achievement of outstanding track and extensive aerodynamic development work.

In the front of the GT3 race car has a front spoiler with new air intakes greater: the grand opening below the typical radiator grille with a large Mercedes star and supplies wing-shaped cross fin the engine oil cooler and brake disc cooling air.
