Audi looks at the future. The german company of the four rings asked the students of Applied Sciences from University of Munich (Hochschule München) how would they like Audi cars to be in the future, and they replied with visionary ideas, from a highly sportive hybrid to an ultra light interior design concept.
The most outstanding results of this initiative called 'Emotional Intelligence' are present in eleven radical concepts and a book that is already on sale, Audi Design Projekt.
The main theme, as usual, the technology is put into renewable energy and environmentally responsible.
The futuristic design is combined with electric or hybrid vehicles. In the final selection there are sports cars, a reinterpretation of the interior of a vehicle and Sedans science fiction, among others.
The aim of the project 'Emotional Intelligence' is to introduce a premium brand like Audi sports, as well as a pioneer in technology and design.
The balance between innovation and brand recognition has to be present in a great looking product and that simultaneously satisfies the needs of society. That is why all the concepts presented are trying to maintain the DNA of Audi.
¿The results are surprising, says Wolfgang Egger, chief designer of the Audi Group. Do students have answered the question about the mobility of the future so bright and very persuasive. Each concept, each model contains at least one idea or characteristic that could safely include in our future cars ".
During the creative process, the designers at Audi were supporting the students. After all, they are constantly contributing ideas to strengthen Audi's image as a leader in automotive design.
What separates a designer from the rest is its special ability to conceptualize the future and viewing images ¿, said Stefan Sielaff, head of Audi design. Do the progress we are facing reality, as reciprocating engines or more efficient vehicles, also require responses from the designers.
Have we found fascinating how students responded to this challenge, beyond the technical and regulatory requirements to be met by the series of car design.
